Text messages from Caraid
Caraid Health Tech Ltd. operates Caraid, a family care-coordination app. Caraid sends exactly one kind of text message (SMS), from a Canadian toll-free number, and only when a person asks for it in the app: a one-time 6-digit verification code. Caraid never sends marketing, promotions, or recurring messages by SMS, and no text message ever contains health information.
The one message Caraid sends
When someone invites you to a care circle and you open the invitation while signed in with a different phone number or email, Caraid needs proof that you control the invited number. The app explains that, and you choose whether to request a code. If you tap Send code by text, one text message with a 6-digit code goes to the invited number. The code expires in minutes. Nothing is sent if you do not tap the button.
Invitations themselves are not texted by Caraid. The person inviting you shares the link from their own phone, using their own messaging app. One-time codes for signing in with a phone number are sent by Caraid's sign-in provider and are covered by the privacy policy.
How consent is given
Consent is given inside the app, on the screen that sends the message, by the person who receives it. There is no keyword to text and no sign-up form. The words on that screen are quoted below.
This invite was sent to a contact which isn't the contact you signed in with. To connect it to your account, Caraid will send one 6-digit verification code to that number by text message.

Stop messages, or get help
- Reply STOP to any message and Caraid sends nothing further to that number.
- Reply HELP for the sender name and a support address.
- Email the Privacy Officer at privacy@caraid.ca with any question about text messages.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency is one message per code you request. Your mobile number and your consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Do not include health information in a text message or in an email to Caraid.
